About This Blog

As someone who loves cooking and was fairly recently diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, the first thing I was worried about was making sure that I could still find ways to cook dishes that were inspiring and flavorful.  The last thing I wanted was to be sentenced to a life of the bland food that I had heard so many people forcing themselves through to cope with this illness.  After some research, I have discovered that even though a few things will be hard to deal with completely cutting out of my diet (I’m talking about you, popcorn), this may be a blessing in disguise.  Even a way to push me to become a better cook and baker, and just more generally knowledgeable about food.

After I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, I had friends who were diagnosed with Celiac Disease (requiring a gluten-free diet) and Gastroparesis.  While all of these require different dietary needs and restrictions, from each other and Crohn’s, I plan to try to incorporate as many recipes as possible that will work for people with some of these other issues.

Even though this blog is created for food catered to those with Crohn’s, it doesn’t mean it’s not for everyone.  All of the food I will be putting up is really just healthy, plain and simple, sometimes with an extra tweak.

From my kitchen to yours,

Julia
